Wendy just loves colour! The brighter and clearer the better. The whole world is so full of doom and gloom she would like to brighten and cheer it all up. A ‘typical country girl’ – who loves family, home, gardening, cooking, enjoying people & entertaining, and of course art!
After retiring to Buderim, Queensland 23 years ago and ‘filling in time while waiting to live with god” she discovered art and plans to be here painting when she’s 100!
She first discovered fabric art by buying a very expensive hand-painted table cloth. Completely self-taught, there are now Wendy Raleigh cloths, mats, bags, cushions and curtains with the brightness & bedlam of Buderim all around the world. Cloths are made-to-measure, to designs and colours requests.
In the more serious art she started with water colour and then acrylics, doing many workshops with many and varied tutors. She’s been on many painting excursions, to outback Queensland, Great Barrier Reef, Bunya Mountains, The Greek Islands, Connecticut, Tuscany & New Zealand.
She has been involved in man very successful exhibitions and is always happy to help brighten up people’s lives.
Her art says it all!
